FISH & Chips (or What do we do?)

Our FISH group starts the week off right with a Bible study and learning time at 9:45 a.m. But we don't limit our relationship with God to Sunday mornings.

There are district youth gatherings where we go on a road trip and connect with other teens, learn more about God, and worship together. Every third year we participate in the National LCMS Youth Gathering, where people from all over the United States come together for a five-day event celebrating their faith and life in Jesus Christ. FISH members work together at raising money to cover part of the cost of our trips through some special fundraisers throughout the year. During the summers we are not at the National Youth Gathering, you will find us somewhere on a mission trip.

About once a month we meet for a large-group activity where we do something fun like a swimming party in the summer, the haunted house road trip in October, attending concerts, or our "Yucky" obstacle course at Yuck Day in September. If you like chocolate, you'll love Yuck Day!

Community service is an important part of our outreach to others. We get involved in Serve Our School (doing different acts of kindness at our schools and wearing the official shirt), some servant events at our church, and helping others in need in our community. In the summer we do a root-beer float ministry on Wednesday nights.

Add in pizza parties, movie nights, and just being there for each other, as we learn and grow in God's love, and you have a good idea of what FISH is all about.

So, why don't you come on over to find out more about FISH & Chips?!
